The Little Free Library(LFL) is a global movement, and TASK, in collaboration with Books & Brews, is delighted to support its introduction in Mysore. The concept is based on a simple, honour-system book exchange: ‘Take a book, share a book.’”
- A Global Movement: Little Free Library is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to building community, inspiring a love of reading, and sparking creativity through shared book exchanges.
- The Library: It's a small, charming, weatherproof structure—often resembling a dollhouse or large birdhouse—placed on a post in a public area.
- How It Works: Anyone can walk up, open the door, and borrow a book they'd like to read. The only expectation is that they will return that book or contribute another book in its place to keep the library stocked for the next reader. No library card is needed.
- Community-Driven: LFLs are maintained by local volunteers, known as "stewards," and they serve as vital, accessible anchors of literacy that benefit everyone in the neighbourhood, young and old.
